Our Craft

Our Craft

Every Yingtong piece begins and ends under our own roof. We own our factory. We own our warehouse. That single decision to control production ourselves rather than outsource it is what allows us to promise something most brands at our price point can't: genuine, verifiable craftsmanship in every stitch.

Hand-Pleating That Takes Years to Master

Many of our pieces feature fine accordion and toothpick pleating, pressed and shaped by hand using individually formed paper molds. Some of our most intricate silk gowns require artisans to reconstruct a new mold for every single pattern piece — a technique so demanding that only a small number of veteran craftspeople in our factory are trained to execute it.

Embroidery Measured in Hours, Not Minutes

Our hand-beaded and embroidered pieces aren't machine shortcuts. A single beaded bodice can take 6 to 10 hours of hand-applied work to complete. Every bead, sequin, and appliqué is placed with intention — not stamped on in bulk.

Fabric Sourced and Selected With Care

From 30-momme mulberry silk to genuine silk-backed velvet — a rarity in an industry where most "velvet" is entirely synthetic we choose fabrics for how they perform, drape, and age, not just how they look on day one.

Heritage, Reimagined

Alongside our contemporary pieces, we honor traditional Eastern craftsmanship — qipao construction techniques passed down through generations, reinterpreted for the woman wearing them today. This isn't costume. It's a living technique, made relevant.

Why This Matters to You

When you buy fast fashion, you're often buying a guess — mass-produced, quality-tested after the fact, if at all. When you buy from Yingtong, you're buying from the people who made it, in the factory we run, held to a standard we set ourselves. That's not a marketing claim. It's the only way we know how to make clothes.
